I’m guilty of bringing my entire wardrobe with me when I travel and not wearing half it. It’s not only a hassle to lug around but it also meant I couldn’t buy all these cute things while I was away. So now I’ve figured out a few tips and tricks to avoid over packing while packing your suitcase.

Tip 1 – Bring Basics you can wear with anything.

As obvious as this may seem, basics are your best friend when travelling. Things like white/black tops, black/denim jeans and denim shorts and skirts are a must.

Tip 2 – Jewellery!!

Jewellery is a great way to spice up any outfit! It can make even the simplest of outfits look amazing! It’s also much smaller and lighter to pack than clothes (which means more room for cute things!).

Tip 3 – Limit the number of shoes you bring.

There’s no need to bring all your shoes! Only bring one pair of sandals, one pair of sneakers, flip-flops if you’re going to the beach and a pair of runners. And when flying always wear your bulkiest and heaviest shoes.

Tip 4 – Travel size cosmetics

Travel size cosmetics are a wonderful thing! They don’t take up as much space and weigh next to nothing! And it’s surprising how much product is in such a small bottle. Plus who doesn’t love mini things.

Tip 5 – Have an idea of the types of outfits you want to pack.

For me this is the best part of packing. I always work out what type of outfits I want to bring with me and style them before putting them in my suitcase. I do this by creating a pintrest board. Then when I’m packing I’ll have it up on my computer and style/pack the items I need.
